INFINITY HEIGHTS HOUSING: ON-SITE // Housing // Hackney // Commercial

The EASTWEST Architecture team are pleased to take on this demanding build-to-rent project in the London borough of Hackney. Their expertise in being residential architects providing a personal service now extends to larger commercial developments.

Our client continues to extend their EAST London portfolio in Hackney. This existing building underwent planning for a change of use from office to residential.

Our main role has been technical drawing packages for execution of the building internally and externally.

The project organisation has been driven by a high-speed building programme which meant that the builder has been building as we release the packages.

The redevelopment of this 1960s office building began in June 2014. The first three floors were pre-existing, and a fourth and fifth floor are being added as a new build, with tenants still occupying the ground floor, thus making this a highly complex project.

Located in Haggerston Infinity Heights is the second project our architecture firm has worked on with their client Investland Group — a developer of high-quality housing in east London. As the build-to-rent market widens in London it has become ever more important to retain tenants. Not easy in a transient city whereby people move jobs and accommodation frequently.

Tenant retention helps to build communities in a local area and within the accommodation itself. Part of the strategy for tenant retention is for Investland Group to effectively manage Infinity Heights following the build’s completion.

Previously but whilst the property of Invetland Infinity Heights was home to the well known Hive – a community interest company. which Investland Group let to instead of the building being vacant bringing years of local engagement, usable facilities and convenience for many types of people.

Kingsland Road is over 2,000 years old and is a key exit and entrance to and from North London. Haggerston sits in an unusual location, between Dalston and Hoxton but is clearly like neither. A uniquely situated territory that connects London Fields, Islington, and the aforementioned Hoxton and Dalston.

It spawns and hosts creative companies and individuals – exactly what London is known for. Local independent businesses such as Burley Fisher Books, Draughts board game cafe, and The Haggerston a local pub with a popular jazz night every Sunday and late night clubbing vibe every Saturday. A thriving metropolitan district, Haggerston remains a territory for experimental urban change in an area surrounded by conservation, preservation, and a mixed demographic of cultures, gender, class and age.

EASTWEST Architecture were appointed to this project post-planning to provide detailed construction drawings for the building. Our office provided these while the project was actually under construction, therefore working within tight time constraints. This project is demonstrative of our capabilities for construction of larger buildings.

This architectural project comprises nine apartments with unusually spacious interiors. The development includes three unique, comfortable penthouses with private roof terraces and outstanding panoramic views across the West London skyline.

If you’re looking to find an architect in London, look no further than EASTWEST Architecture. We work on both residential and commercial properties, always producing beautiful, bespoke results. Client communication is key to our work, so contact us today on +44 (0)20 7148 0668 and take the first steps in realising your creative vision.
